New Roads dropped their record down to 14-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 18-2 to the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 8-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
New Roads saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asamino Spong, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10. Considering they have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Wiseburn- Da Vinci's side, Thomas Carpenter and Beckett Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Carpenter pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Miller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Carpenter went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Miller went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Carpenter's first of the season.
In other pitching news, Tristan Martinez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Back at the plate, Wiseburn- Da Vinci got a massive performance out of Adan Barbosa, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Barbosa continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Edward Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As of now, neither New Roads nor Wiseburn- Da Vinci have any future games scheduled.
