Dixon is 10-0 against Woodland since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dixon Rams the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Woodland Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Dixon suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Pioneer at home and fell 49-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dixon has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Woodland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 35-27 to Mesa Verde.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Madilyn Watkins, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hajab Shabbir, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Woodland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Woodland, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Dixon against Woodland when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 54-18 win. Will Dixon repeat their success, or does Woodland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
