Everything went Ceres' way against Grace Davis on Tuesday as Ceres made off with a 53-28 win. Given Ceres' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Grace Davis is ranked 890th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Ceres to victory were Arrayah Stallworth and Marissa Renteria. Stallworth scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks, while Renteria scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Stallworth has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Leifried, who scored eight points.
Ceres has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Grace Davis, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ceres will take on Mountain House at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ceres is coming into the matchup with six straight wins at home, meaning Mountain House will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Grace Davis will take on Johansen at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Johansen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
