The Buckingham Charter Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Faith Christian, falling 77-6. Buckingham Charter has not had much luck with Faith Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Faith Christian was led to victory by Lauren Harris and Presley Berry. Harris dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Berry went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Mia Bryan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Buckingham Charter bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.5 points per game. As for Faith Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckingham Charter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Faith Christian, they will face off against Cristo Rey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1068th, while Faith Christian is ranked 337th).
