It was a good run, but the Walnut Ridge Scots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Lincoln 66-60. Walnut Ridge has not had much luck with Lincoln recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Scots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lj Foster, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Foster is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Dominique Aekins was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Walnut Ridge's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Ridge and Marion-Franklin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marion-Franklin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to take on Westerville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westerville Central will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
