After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Mar, the Independence 76ers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They snuck past Hill with a 41-36 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Independence, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Independence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashjeet Kaur, who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kaur has scored at least a third of Independence's points. Isabella Aquino was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Independence's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Hill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Live Oak focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Thursday. As for Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Westmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
