There's no place like home for the Minarets Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They took their match at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 53-13 victory over Laton. That's another feather in the cap for Minarets, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Laton's loss came despite strong showings from Gabriella Alvarado and Evelyn Buttle. Alvarado scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds, while Buttle scored 3 points. Alvarado scored a full 53.8% of Laton's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Minarets' victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Laton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Minarets will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmersville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laton, they will head out on the road to face off against Wonderful College Prep Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
