After a string of 11 wins, Willits's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They came up short against  the Sonoma Academy Coyotes, falling  55-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Wolverines have suffered  since December 7, 2024.
 Willits lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Cecily Potter, who  posted 14 points along with eight  rebounds and three  steals. Potter has been hot, having  posted two or more  steals the last seven times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Arion Martin, who  put up seven  points and six  boards.
Willits'  defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Sonoma Academy, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
 Willits and Sonoma Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Willits will  challenge  Technology  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday up  768 places (463 vs. 1231). Meanwhile,  Sonoma Academy (ranked 412th) will meet Credo (ranked 869th)  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
