Philipsburg-Osceola is on a five-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Curwensville a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Curwensville Golden Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Philipsburg-Osceola ended up a good deal behind Bald Eagle Area and lost 43-27.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Khendyl Sharrer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Maddy Malinich was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Curwensville took a serious blow against Glendale on Friday, falling 65-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Curwensville has scored all season.
