South Panola is on a six game winning streak.
On a playoff night when all the higher seasons won, there was one big exception — the Olive Branch Conquistadors.
Mississippi's No. 22 team upset No. 8 Madison Central 24-7 Friday behind a 90-yard touchdown reception by Temias Mason and TD runs of 24 yards by Gene Banks and 1-yard by Preston Jeffries. The Conquistadors scored 24 unanswered points after Jimmy Holiday scored a 14-yard rushing touchdown with 2:00 left in the first quarter for Madison Central. Both teams finished the contest 9-3.
In another big playoff game pitting ranked Top 25 teams from the state, Janari Dean rushed for touchdowns of 76, 2 and 90 yards, lefiting fourth-ranked South Panola to a 39-23 win over No. 20 Tupelo.
Quarterback Anterrio Draper also had a big game, connected on touchdown passes of 60 and 9 yards to Ricky Farmer. He also fired a 17-yard scoring strike to Cameron Wright.
The rest of the games went pretty much according to the seedings as No. 1 Picayune defeated Brookhaven 49-10, No. 9 Brandon edged No. 11 D'lberville, 35-25, and 10th-ranked Gulfport pulled out a 20-19 contest from No. 19 George County.
