Baseball Game Preview: Justin-Siena Braves vs. Napa Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Justin-Siena will face off against Napa. The Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Justin-Siena has five straight victories, Napa has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Justin-Siena lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Napa, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Braves were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Considering the Braves have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Griffin Messenger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tommy Malloy was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Giovannelli, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Justin-Siena was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Napa only posted a batting average of .154.

Justin-Siena's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Napa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Napa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Justin-Siena hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334.
