Dylan Katz led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Buckley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Katz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview Charter). Everything went their way against Community Charter on Monday as they made off with a 21-11 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Eric Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Diego Orozco was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Buckley's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Lakeview Charter, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Buckley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lakeview Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
