The Apple Valley Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Excelsior Charter Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Apple Valley Christian had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. Their tough 41-16 loss to Silver Valley on Friday might stick with them for a while.
Despite the loss, Apple Valley Christian saw an underclassman step up: Mandy Hall scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Excelsior Charter came up short against University Prep on Friday and fell 36-24.
Apple Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Excelsior Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Apple Valley Christian barely slipped by Excelsior Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, winning 33-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Apple Valley Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
