It was a good run, but the Community Charter Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Lakeview Charter, falling 57-6. Community Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-4.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakeview Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alani Kyles, who scored 29 points along with 9 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Kyles has scored at least 25% of Lakeview Charter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Quinonez, who scored 16 points along with 9 steals and 6 assists.
Community Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lakeview Charter, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Charter will challenge CALS Early College at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. CALS Early College comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Lakeview Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Balboa College Prep at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
