Even though the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles have not done well against the New Covenant Christian Flames recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. High Point Baptist Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over the Flames. The win made it back-to-back wins for High Point Baptist Academy.
Despite the loss, New Covenant Christian saw an underclassman step up: Qynne Demler scored 23 points. That was a full 74.2% of New Covenant Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miracle Hershey, who scored six points.
High Point Baptist Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for New Covenant Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
