The Fallbrook Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Imperial Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fallbrook is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fallbrook gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They really took it to Escondido for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-17 victory at home. Given Fallbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Escondido is ranked 856th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Claire Nordeen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 18 straight games. Taylor Thomas was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six steals.
Palo Verde Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Imperial proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 42-36 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Nayeli Cardona continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. She hasn't dropped below four steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Davan Heraz, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Fallbrook is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Imperial, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Fallbrook have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.4% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Imperial, though, as they've only made 27.5% of their threes this season. Given Fallbrook's sizable advantage in that area, Imperial will need to find a way to close that gap.
Fallbrook didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Imperial in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 29-23 win. Does Fallbrook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Imperial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
