The Classical Academy Caimans will challenge the Westview Wolverines at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Classical Academy barely beat Canyon Crest Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Caimans put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 12-3 win on Thursday.
Nick Holbrook looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Travis Perry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Longo, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westview owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Mira Mesa as they made off with an 8-0 victory.
Joseph Arango-Manley made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Arango-Manley was also big at the plate, earning two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other pitching news, Logan Johnson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Westview let Elijah Whelan and Devin Martinez run wild. Whelan went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Martinez went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Zeke Gutierrez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The win got Westview back to even at 1-1. As for Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Classical Academy might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Westview in their previous matchup back in June of 2021. Can the Caimans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
