Coalinga is 10-0 against the Buccaneers since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Coalinga Horned Toads will head out on the road to challenge the Avenal Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Coalinga is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
Coalinga stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tranquillity 65-11 at home. While fans of Coalinga might be used to big wins, the 54-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Coalinga found their leader in underclassman Addie Love, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jozlynn Marshall, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Avenal had to suffer through a rough 78-15 loss at the hands of the Aztecs. While losing is never fun, Avenal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while the Aztecs are ranked 436th).
Coalinga is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Avenal, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
Everything came up roses for Coalinga against the Buccaneers in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 62-24 win. With Coalinga ahead 37-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
