Football Recap: Eunice Skates Past Loving with Ease

Eunice's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Loving Falcons, posting a 56-6 win. Considering the Cardinals have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elijah Melancon produced another solid performance throwing for 229 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 65 yards and one TD on only five carries. What's more, he racked up 158.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

Eunice didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Loving to a completion percentage of just 40%. The Cardinals have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.

Eunice's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Loving, they moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Eunice and Loving will both be playing Texico the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
