The Ponca Indians will square off against the Wynot Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ponca is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Thursday, Ponca earned a 62-53 win over the Pirates. Given Ponca's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Pirates are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Walthill scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Wynot still came out on top. Wynot secured a 61-55 W over the Blujays. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wynot.
Ponca's win bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Wynot, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Ponca was able to grind out a solid victory over the Blue Devils when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 64-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wynot's Zack Foxhoven, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Ponca still be able to contain Foxhoven? There's only one way to find out.
