The South River Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Spotswood Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, South River was able to grind out a solid win over Metuchen, taking the game 54-47.
Alex Grospe was his usual excellent self, scoring 38 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Anthony Costa was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meanwhile, Spotswood waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 61-49 win over Carteret.
South River's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Spotswood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
South River was taken down by Spotswood 85-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can South River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
