The Loyalton Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Plumas Charter Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Loyalton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 63-30 win over Elk Creek. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their 24-point performance the match before.

Loyalton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josie Petterson, who posted 13 points along with eight steals and five rebounds, and Catherine Petterson, who had 14 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Josie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Weaver, who put up ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Plumas Charter entered their tilt with Princeton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 35-31 W over the Eagles.
Plumas Charter's win came from a few key players Loyalton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaycee Pew, who earned eight points in addition to 16 boards and three blocks. Lucy Joesph was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 10 points and seven steals.
Plumas Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.
Plumas Charter's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for Loyalton, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Loyalton has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Plumas Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 47.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Loyalton against Plumas Charter in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Loyalton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
