Baseball Recap: Morse's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Morse, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mountain Empire Redhawks with a sharp 11-3 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Christian Fernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Morse got a massive performance out of Moises Davison, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Davison a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rey Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Morse always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Morse's record is now 2-8-1. As for Mountain Empire, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Morse has already played their next matchup, a 12-7 loss against New Roads on the 1st. As for Mountain Empire, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-6 victory against Canyon Hills on the 1st.
