Baseball Game Preview: Treutlen Vikings vs. Dublin Fighting Irish

Treutlen has gone 8-2 against Dublin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Treutlen will be playing in front of their home fans against Dublin at 5:30 p.m. Treutlen will be strutting in after a victory while Dublin will be coming in after a defeat.

Treutlen lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Telfair County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. Treutlen blew past Telfair County 9-1 on Friday. Considering the Vikings have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caden Parrish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyton Miller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Acie Dickens, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles.

Miller wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Treutlen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dublin fell victim to Academy for Classical Education and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Gryphons, falling 10-0. The Fighting Irish have struggled against the Gryphons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Dublin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tal Duke, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Treutlen's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Dublin, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
