Softball Recap: Campbell Has No Trouble Against South Cobb

Campbell won the last time they faced South Cobb and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans blew past the Eagles 16-3. Considering the Spartans have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Charlotte Keib was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. Harper MacDonald was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Campbell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Cobb only posted an OBP of .350.

The victory made it two in a row for Campbell and bumps their season record up to 11-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for South Cobb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Campbell will take on Pickens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. South Cobb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
