The Central Bobcats will be playing at home against the Centennial Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Central strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 59-44.
Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shakeira Mosley out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mosley scored 15 or more points. Lia Sims was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Centennial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Sunrise Mountain. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 25th).
Akasha Prpich put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaleia Young, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Central lost to the Coyotes at home by a decisive 58-43 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Central have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
