The Hemet Bulldogs were the 45-28 winner over the Elsinore Tigers when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. Hemet fell 44-31 to Elsinore on Friday. Hemet has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hemet's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ruby Lindsey, who scored 11 points. Kayana Olds was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Ashirah Williams was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with four steals for Elsinore. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Iree Mativa, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Hemet's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 11-8. As for Elsinore, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
Hemet will head out on the road to take on Canyon Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon Springs will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Elsinore, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Vista del Lago at 6:00 p.m. Vista del Lago has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 13.
