Rolling Hills Prep has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hawthorne Math & Science Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rolling Hills Prep Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators at 3:15 p.m. Rolling Hills Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Rolling Hills Prep turned things around against Animo Leadership on Monday. They were the clear victor by an 18-3 margin over the Aztec Eagles. The Huskies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Isaac Sarner and Matthew Moyer made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Sarner struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Moyer didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Sarner went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Moyer scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those three RBI gave Sarner a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rolling Hills Prep got a massive performance out of Alex Hernandez, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. The dominant performance gave Hernandez a new career-high in runs. Jake Levin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne Math & Science Academy came up short against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica on March 1st, falling 17-8. The Aviators have struggled against the Seawolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.
Gabriel Ortiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Rolling Hills Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rolling Hills Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hawthorne Math & Science Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rolling Hills Prep took their victory against Hawthorne Math & Science Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0.
