The Pirates put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday. Cotopaxi never let Sierra Grande on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 28-26.

Cotopaxi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Swann, who had 14 digs. Swann has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.
Cotopaxi was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Sangre de Cristo lost 3-0 to Sargent on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Farmers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-16.
Cotopaxi now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sangre de Cristo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
