Video: Top quarterbacks on preseason Top 25 teams A look at some of the best gunslingers in high school football.
Twenty-one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country will compete at the end of the month for a chance to be named MVP of the Elite 11 Finals.
The three-day competition begins June 29 and wraps up July 1 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. This year's Elite 11 class features signal callers from five teams featured in our preseason Top 10 rankings.
In total, seven Top 25 teams have a quarterback competing and 10 teams from the Top 100.
Texas has the most quarterbacks selected with seven. California, Florida and Georgia were the only other states with multiple players featured with two each.
Four of the 21 selections are uncommitted with the most notable being Gonzaga's (Washington, D.C.) 5-star Caleb Williams, who's set to announce his decision on the Fourth of July.
Williams and the other 20 participants look to join past greats such as Matt Stafford, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Fields, Jameis Winston, Mark Sanchez, Shea Patterson and Blaine Gabbert named Elite 11 MVP.

The multi-sport standout is committed to Florida on a baseball scholarship and is yet to land a Power 5 football offer. This will be the perfect opportunity for Allen to showcase his talent as a quarterback and expect some major FBS offers to come his way after the event. He accounted for nearly 2,500 yards of total offense and 22 touchdowns during his junior season.
6-2 | 190 | Florida State
Was a late addition to the Elite 11 Finals and is coming off a nice junior season throwing for over 3,000 yards and 37 touchdowns. Expect the Yellowjackets to be in the hunt to win their first state title since 2015 with Altmyer and 2021 Mississippi State commit
Amariyon Howard both back this season.

During his junior campaign at Bishop's (La Jolla, Calif.) he put up video game numbers. He threw for 4,474 yards and 53 touchdowns while adding another 1,610 yards on the ground to go with 28 more scores. He transferred to Helix for his senior year and should have the Highlanders in contention to win their first state title since 2011.
5-11 | 195 | Auburn
Will go down as one of the best players in Texas high school football history after leading the Mustangs to back-to-back 6A Division 1 state titles. Over the last two seasons, he's accounted for 7,889 yards of total offense (6,022 passing, 1,867 rushing) and 103 touchdowns. Davis and North Shore begin the 2020 campaign ranked at
No. 5 in our preseason Top 25.
6-3 | 205 | Florida
Transferred to Grayson for his senior year after leading McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) to a 12-1 record and a quarterfinal appearance in 2019. The 4-star quarterback accounted for nearly 4,000 yards of total offense and 39 touchdowns over the last two seasons and looks to lead the Rams to their first 7A state championship since 2016. The Sharks have been one of the best stories in high school football over the last two seasons. They started playing a full varsity schedule against UIL competition in 2018 and have gone 31-1 during that span. Drones led them to the 5A Division 1 state championship as a junior throwing for 3,390 yards and 46 touchdowns while adding another 825 yards rushing to go with 18 more scores. On pace to shatter the state record for career passing yards, he is 1,303 yards away from breaking
Brett Rypien's record he set back in 2014. Huard has thrown for 11,741 yards and 132 touchdowns during his first three years and was named our
Freshman of the Year in 2017. He was also selected on the
Sophomore and
Junior All-American team the last two years.

Threw for over 4,000 yards and 44 touchdowns as a junior and led the Cardinals to their first TAPPS state championship game appearance. Expect this event to be a coming out party for James and add some marquee offers to his name. So far he has nine FBS offers but is still awaiting his first from a Power 5 school.

Finished his junior campaign with over 3,000 yards passing and 28 touchdowns while leading the Eagles to a semifinal appearance in the TAPPS Division 1 bracket. Recently landed an offer from Houston giving him nine FBS offers and with a strong showing in Tennessee expect some Power 5 schools to be sending him some mail.
6-0 | 205 | Missouri
Led the Flyers to a 14-0 record and 6A state championship in 2019 accounting for over 5,000 yards of total offense and 57 touchdowns. He became the second player in state history to hit the 5,000-plus mark in a single season. Macon and East St. Louis begin the season
ranked at No. 25.
6-4 | 205 | North Carolina
Threw for over 3,500 yards and 50 touchdowns while leading the Mustangs to a 12-1 record and 4AA quarterfinal appearance. Older brother Luke was a star basketball player for North Carolina and the younger Maye should do the same on the gridiron for the Tar Heels.
6-2 | 180 | Michigan
Once he announced he was transferring to IMG Academy in May that sealed the deal for the Ascenders to begin the season
ranked at No. 1. Over his final two years at Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, Ill.), he threw for over 6,000 yards and 71 touchdowns while leading them to a 7A state title in 2018.
6-3 | 210 | Ohio State
Two of the last three Elite 11 MVP's are currently at Ohio State and McCord has a great chance to make it three in four years. He's been a first team selection on the
Sophomore and
Junior All-American team the past two seasons and is a major reason why the Philadelphia power begins the year
ranked at No. 7.
6-1 | 190 | Texas Tech
Morton recently saw a nice bump in
247sports updated player rankings jumping from No. 191 overall to 104. He also checks in as the No. 5 pro-style quarterback. During his junior season he threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing over 60 percent of his passes.
6-1 | 200 | University of Southern California
Transferred from Alemany (Mission Hills, Calif.) earlier this month to finish his career for one of the top programs in high school football. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns during his junior season while completing over 67 percent of his passes. Threw for over 3,700 yards and 38 touchdowns in 2019 while leading the Marauders to an 11-2 record. His father Doug Nussmeier played in the NFL for five seasons and is currently the quarterback coach for the Dallas Cowboys.

One of seven quarterbacks from the Lone Star State selected for the Elite 11 Finals accounted for 3,166 yards of total offense (2,550 passing, 616 rushing) and 38 touchdowns in 2019. Salter and the Longhorns were featured in our
preseason Top 100 rankings and have huge in-state matchups against Rockwall, Allen, DeSoto and No. 8 Duncanville this season.
6-4 | 210 | Oregon
Looks to join Spencer Rattler as the only other quarterback to be named Elite 11 MVP from Arizona. He checks in as the top-rated player from the Grand Canyon State in the Class of 2021 and threw for over 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns as a junior. He also rushed for 500-plus yards and led the Wildcats to a 4A state title.
6-3 | 205 | Georgia
Joins Del Rio as the only other quarterback featured from the Peach State. He checks in as the second-rated player in the state and No. 13 overall. He showed his toughness last season playing most of the year with a broken fibula and threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 31 touchdowns despite missing four games. As a sophomore he accounted for 4,191 yards of total offense (3,190 passing, 1,001 rushing) and 51 touchdowns.
6-4 | 195 | Penn State
History was made when Veilleux was selected to compete at the Elite 11 Finals becoming the first Canadian to participate. During his junior season he threw for over 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns.

The top-rated quarterback in the country will have a busy week coming up. First, he will compete against the best QBs in the land, then he's set to announce his college choice on July 4. It's down to Oklahoma, LSU and Maryland. Williams has been named to the
Sophomore and
Junior All-American first team the past two years and expect him to be in the hunt to win National Player of the Year in 2020.
