Basketball Recap: Carlsbad Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tampa Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlsbad). They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tampa Catholic Crusaders 67-65.

Despite the loss, Tampa Catholic still got an impressive performance from K.J. Morgan, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Morgan is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 67% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Neo Flores, who posted 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

The victory got Carlsbad back to even at 3-3. As for Tampa Catholic, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Carlsbad will challenge St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tampa Catholic, they will take on IMG Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
