Baseball Recap: Capuchino Extends Winning Streak to Three

Capuchino entered their tilt with Branham on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Bruins. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Capuchino got a great performance from Jordan Estrella as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, Estrella gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Lucas Zayac was incredible, going a perfect 6-for-6 with three runs and four RBI. Capuchino is undefeated when Zayac posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Bryce Brooks also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Capuchino's record is now 8-4. As for Branham, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Coming up, Capuchino will be taking part in a tournament against Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Branham, they will venture away from home to face off against Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Teresa's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Branham's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
