Blue Island Eisenhower hasn't had much luck against Crete-Monee recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Blue Island Eisenhower is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Blue Island Eisenhower fell victim to Oak Lawn and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Cardinals couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Meanwhile, Crete-Monee waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Red Wolves as they made off with a 14-2 victory. Considering the Warriors have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Dylan Dee tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Bren Milburn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Keyshon James was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Crete-Monee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Crete-Monee's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Blue Island Eisenhower has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crete-Monee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Blue Island Eisenhower suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Crete-Monee in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
