Nytavis Powell Drops League-Best Effort on Friday
Starting off the list is Montgomery Central's Nytavis Powell, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Powell rushed for 184 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
Montgomery Central's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Powell and Montgomery Central will take on Central Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Asheboro had to settle for second on Friday, but QUINCEY LEE sure wasn't going down easily. LEE turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
Asheboro is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. LEE and Asheboro will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Davidson at 7:30 p.m.

Bradley Byrd Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Bradley Byrd continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 20th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.
If history really does repeat itself, Byrd might just drop another big game when he faces off against Ledford on Friday. When Byrd last faced the Panthers back in October of 2023, he made 19 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Oak Grove Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Karson Williams
Oak Grove picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Karson Williams. Williams was dynamite, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Williams might have his next game, a road matchup with Ledford, circled on his calendar. When Williams last faced the Panthers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Big Game from Honeycutt As Oak Grove Won 17-0
Daniel Honeycutt's big game helped extend Oak Grove's winning streak to five on Friday. Honeycutt was dynamite, picking up three sacks and making eight total tackles. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
This year, Honeycutt has averaged 8.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 7 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 3.14 total tackles per game.
