Palo Alto's dream school year continues.
The Vikings, who won state girls volleyball and football titles within two weeks in December, moved into the Central Coast Section Division I baseball finals with a 5-2 semifinal win over Mitty on Wednesday night.
Palo Alto (27-9) advanced into Saturday's 7 p.m. championship at San Jose Municipal Park against No. 5 seed San Benito (22-8), a 5-0 winner over Salinas. Brian Granger pitched a no-hitter for San Benito.
The Vikings scored all the runs they needed in the top of the first, getting four runs keyed by a two-run single from Jack Witte and a sacrifice fly by Will Glazier to key the rally.
They made it 5-0 in the third when Christoph Bono singled, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch.
Pitchers Ben Sneider (12-3) and Drake Swezey did the rest, combining on an 8-hitter. Palo Alto took advantage of three errors.
Mitty (26-6-1), the second seed, never could recover from the nightmarish first inning. Tyler Davis came in the second inning and pretty much handcuffed the Vikings the rest of the way. He also had two of his team's eight hits.
The Division III final will pit Menlo (25-5) against Santa Cruz (19-8-1) in a 4 p.m. Saturday game at Muni.
