If Miramonte was feeling good fresh off their 23-0 takedown of Mt. Diablo last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Matadors took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northgate Broncos on Tuesday. The Matadors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Miramonte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Yung, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Yung is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Tanner Strand was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Miramonte's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-11. As for Northgate, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

While Miramonte had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
