The Williams Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 82-21 loss at the hands of Hamilton. While losing is never fun, Williams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1319th, while the Braves are ranked 539th).
Despite the loss, Williams saw an underclassman step up: Jennifer Vega scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Lupita Zuniga, who scored no points along with eight blocks.
Hannah Bonesio had an outrageously good game for Hamilton as she scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bonesio has scored all season. Sheri Enneking was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Williams dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hamilton, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will challenge the Lynx at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
