Basketball Recap: Taft Skates Past West with Ease

Taft barely beat West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats claimed a resounding 61-19 victory over the Vikings. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Taft's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Fynnley Arnold, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kylene Nixon, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points.

Taft smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

The win got Taft back to even at 2-2. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Taft will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on December 2. As for West, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Del Oro at 6:30 p.m. on December 1.
