The South Allegheny Gladiators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 56-33 defeat at the hands of Belle Vernon. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat South Allegheny has suffered since December 13, 2023.
Despite the loss, South Allegheny had strong showings from Amina Shea, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Emily Beaumont, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
South Allegheny has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Belle Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Allegheny on the road again on Wednesday and play against Geibel Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Belle Vernon, they will challenge West Mifflin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
