This season hasn't been kind to the Maricopa Indians, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were outmatched by Valley Christian Academy on the road and fell 59-6. Maricopa lost against Valley Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-8 score last time.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katia Espinosa, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. Espinosa set a new season high mark in blocks with two.
Maricopa bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Valley Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Maricopa will head out on the road to face off against Coastal Christian at 5:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Coastal Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Valley Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Pioneer Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
