The Dock Mennonite Pioneers lost against the MAST Community Charter Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Dock Mennonite took a hard 51-34 fall against MAST Community Charter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dock Mennonite in their matchups with MAST Community Charter: they've now lost six in a row.
Kyleigh Murphy was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Fitzsimmons, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Dock Mennonite's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.2 points per game. As for MAST Community Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dock Mennonite won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Collegium Charter at 4:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Collegium Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. MAST Community Charter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 5th. Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
