The Frazier Commodores's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bentworth 57-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Frazier also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Frazier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Yauch, who scored 17 points along with six steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Yauch has scored at least 25% of Frazier's points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Harger, who scored 17 points.
When it comes to explaining why Bentworth lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amber Sallee. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points. The game was Sallee's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla O'dell, who scored 11 points.
Frazier's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Bentworth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frazier will be home for the holidays to greet Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Bentworth won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Avella at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Avella is ranked 537th, while Bentworth is ranked 520th).
