Costa Mesa has been struggling recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 18 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Saddleback, they dropped their record down to 0-19 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home.
Costa Mesa took their win against Saddleback in their previous matchup on January 2nd by a conclusive 40-14. With Costa Mesa ahead 24-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
