On Saturday, Renaissance Academy earned a 44-36 win over Merion Mercy Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Renaissance Academy.
Renaissance Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aniyah Jones led the charge by scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and six steals. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallis Stewart, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Renaissance Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Merion Mercy Academy, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Renaissance Academy will take on Dock Mennonite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Merion Mercy Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 5:15 p.m. on January 9th. Mt. St. Joseph Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
