The Boron Bobcats will challenge the Kern Valley Broncs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Boron turned things around against Desert on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Scorpions with a sharp 17-1 victory.

The team relied heavily on Geordyn Rundblade, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Boron is undefeated when Rundblade posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Boron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Kern Valley got the win against Mammoth on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-3. The win continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.
Jackson Price made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, Kern Valley got a massive performance out of Blake Baughman, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Baughman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owinn Liske, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Boron's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-5. As for Kern Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Boron has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kern Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Boron's way against Kern Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Boron made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Broncs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
