David Emanuel Academy is 0-5 against Vidalia Heritage Academy since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
David Emanuel Academy was handed a 16-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Jenkins County. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Tucker Free made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Free was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Clayton Hood was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Sailor Powell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
David Emanuel Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkins County only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Vidalia Heritage Academy never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against Mt. Zion by a score of 5-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Pearson O'Neal looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Vidalia Heritage Academy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Braddy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
The win got Vidalia Heritage Academy back to even at 3-3. As for David Emanuel Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
David Emanuel Academy might still be hurting after the 17-7 loss they got from Vidalia Heritage Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can David Emanuel Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
