Brookstone barely beat Westfield School the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by  a  9-2 margin over the Hornets on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matchups by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Brennan Neal made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 12 batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with one  home run and one  stolen base. That  home run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gray Jones, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Mitcham Kelly, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
The  win (which was Brookstone's third in a row) raised their record to 16-3. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Westfield School,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Brookstone will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday.
