Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Upsala/Swanville Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 36-12 defeat at the hands of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Friday. Upsala/Swanville's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Although Upsala/Swanville took the loss, they still got scores from Jack Primus and Brody Kircher.
Even if they lost, Upsala/Swanville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Ethan Barthel and his two sacks.
Luke Dingmann was his usual excellent self, throwing for 220 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 97 yards. Jack Lundberg was another key contributor, rushing for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Upsala/Swanville's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Upsala/Swanville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa will take on Mayer Lutheran at TBD on Friday. Mayer Lutheran will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
