The Johnsonburg Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They secured a 51-46 W over Brockway. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Johnsonburg.
It was another big night for Maria Casilio, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Myers, who scored eight points.
Brockway lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kalina Powell, who scored six points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Sophia Schmader was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Brockway were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johnsonburg only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
Johnsonburg now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brockway, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnsonburg will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brookville at 7:15 p.m. on January 15, 2024. Brockway won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DuBois Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. DuBois Central Catholic will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
