Westover gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Early County Bobcats with a 24-20 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Westover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malik Young, who rushed for 63 yards and one score. Jayshun Bobbs was another key player, rushing for 19 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
